Sustainable Wax

Rapeseed & Coconut Wax

We have chosen to work with this gorgeous wax for many reasons. Rapeseed and coconut wax is an eco-friendly option in the wax melt industry because of its smooth texture, clean burn, and excellent scent throw. Made from a blend of rapeseed oil (from the seeds of the rapeseed plant) and coconut oil, this wax is a renewable resource that offers a natural alternative to paraffin wax. One of the key benefits of rapeseed and coconut wax is its ability to hold and evenly distribute fragrance oils, leading to a consistent scent throw, both cold and hot. This wax has a low melting point, allowing for a slower, more even burn, which can extend the life of your wax melt.

Another advantage of rapeseed and coconut wax is its sustainability. We really like working with this wax because of the smooth, creamy finish, but, even better, both rapeseed and coconut plants are renewable resources, and the wax is biodegradable, making it a more eco-conscious option. It also burns cleaner, producing minimal soot and less harmful chemicals, making it ideal for people looking for a healthier, non-toxic alternative. This wax is free from harmful additives, which makes it a great alternative for people who are looking for natural, cruelty-free products.

Paraffin Wax

Paraffin wax is affordable and easy to work with but it has several drawbacks when it comes to the environmental and our health. It is a byproduct of petroleum, meaning that paraffin is not a renewable resource, and its production contributes to the extraction of fossil fuels. When paraffin wax is burned, it can release potentially harmful chemicals and can contribute to indoor air pollution. Over time, this can lead to poor air quality and pose health risks for us. Paraffin wax also tends to produce more soot compared to natural waxes, which can cause damage to walls.
