The quote "Beware, for I am fearless and therefore powerful" from Frankenstein captures the creature's transformation from a vulnerable being into one driven by anger and revenge. In this moment, the creature recognises that his fearlessness—stemming from his complete isolation and rejection—has given him a form of power. Without the constraints of fear or concern for consequences, he is free to act ruthlessly, reflecting how his suffering has fueled his strength. This quote highlights one of the central themes of Frankenstein: the consequences of neglect and alienation, as the creature’s lack of empathy from his creator and society turns him into a being capable of profound vengeance.

To take it slightly out of context of the book, this quote oozes strength and power, and rather fitting for our Literary Queen Collection, and as the daughter of Mary Wollstonecraft, Shelley simply had to be included!

Mary Shelley was an English writer best known for her iconic novel Frankenstein, which explores themes of creation, ambition, and the consequences of scientific experimentation. Born to feminist pioneers William Godwin and Mary Wollstonecraft, Shelley grew up in an intellectually stimulating environment, which deeply influenced her writing. Frankenstein is often considered one of the first science fiction novels and is a profound commentary on the dangers of unchecked ambition and the marginalisation of women. Shelley’s works often reflect her own personal struggles, including the loss of loved ones and the societal challenges she faced as a woman writer in the 19th century. Her legacy as a pioneering figure in literature continues to resonate, especially in the realms of gothic fiction and feminist thought.

Base Notes: The final scents settle down into frankincense, sweet amber, patchouli and musk to give this fragrance a wonderfully earthy and natural essence.

We only use premium cruelty free fragrance oils and we use a high scent load, ensuring that our products have an excellent cold and hot throw. This means that they smell beautiful in a room without being melted as well as in your burner!

What are they made of

We endeavour to make our products as pleasant, high quality and eco-friendly as we can.

Our wax melts:

Made with a rapeseed and coconut blend, especially formulated for wax melts, giving a beautiful finish and excellent scent throw
Rapeseed crops are grown in the EU from existing agricultural land
The coconut oil is sourced from small holders in Asia
Palm oil free
Vegan
No nasty additives
Mica powder that is obtained from pure natural minerals to give a stunning shimmer
Premium cruelty free fragrance oils that give an impressive hot throw

How to use?

Break a segment off and pop it on your wax melt burner, using a tealight
Allow the wax melt to fully melt
You can re-use a wax melt but please note that the scent throw will be significantly reduced
Once finished, let the wax set and using a knife or spoon, simply pop the wax out
If any wax remains, heat it up and use a damp paper towel to absorb any excess
